French Apple Cider Crullers

Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup of apple cider
  • 1 stick of butter soft
  • 1 Tbsp. of light brown sugar
  • 1 stick of cinnamon
  • 1 1/2 cups of white flour
  • 1/2 tsp. of salt
  • 3 eggs beaten

Ingredients for the glaze:

  • 1 tsp. of powdered cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. of ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. of powdered allspice
  • 1/4 tsp. of cardamom
  • 1/8 tsp. of powdered cloves
  • 1 cup of powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp. of pure vanilla

Instructions
 

  • In a pot set over medium to high heat, add in the cider, soft butter, light brown sugar and stick of cinnamon. Stir well to mix. Allow to come to a boil. Lower the heat to low and cook for 5 to 10 minutes or until reduced. Remove from heat and set aside to cool for 5 to 10 minutes.
  • Remove the stick of cinnamon.
  • Add in 1 cup of white flour and a dash of salt. Add in the eggs and stir well until mixed. Add in 1⁄2 cup of white flour if the dough is too sticky.
  • In a separate pot, add in 2 inches of oil. Allow to come to 350 degrees.
  • On a baking sheet, place a sheet of parchment paper.
  • Pipe 12 rings of the dough onto the baking sheet. Transfer the rings into the hot oil and fry for 3 minutes or until golden. Remove and place onto a wire rack to drain.
  • In a bowl, add in the ingredients for the glaze. Whisk until smooth in consistency.
  • Drizzle the glaze over the rings and serve immediately.
